Natives

The first human colonists of Poseidon were members of the The Athena Project, and everyone descended from them are known as natives, including the first generation colonists. The natives are so known since they were resident on the planet at the time of Recontact, not that they in any way are indigenous lifeforms to the planet. The later colonists are called Colonists.

The natives usually live in small villages scattered all over the planet, but they also founded Haven, the largest city on Poseidon, and many other of the larger settlements. In the smaller villages they usually subsist from fishing, hunting and farming, but don't get deceived by the appearance, they are descended from highly trained scientists and have a culture that encourages the pursuit of knowledge. Natives are usually well adapted to survive on their own and have extended knowledge about the biotopes they live in. They keep in touch with events over CommCore, and children are usually taught by either a travelling teacher, someone from the village, or by attending a virtual class via CommCore. The most popular pastime is Hydroshot.

The Athena Project's human members were accompanied by 300 bottlenose dolphins and 200 orcas.
