New Hawaii

New Hawaii is a chain of four large islands (Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Ina) and dozens of smaller clusters, islets, and reefs. The islands are volcanic, and rich volcanic soil means that most of the New Hawaiian islands are covered in thick tropical rainforest.

The cluster was settled in 05 SP. The first Native settlement, Atlantis, was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 2124 (33 SP) with the inhabitants resettling in Augusta.

Even by Poseidon standards, New Hawaii's natives are standoffish and have poor relations with the GEO; the Incorporate have taken advantage of these hostilities to entrench themselves in the region.

  • Native Settlements: Atlantis, Augusta, Azure, Bounty, Delta, Gale, Hope, Kate's Lagoon, Mitchel's Start, Neuwald, Red Sand, Riptide, Taverner Point
  • Incorporate Holdings: Calisto Station, Castillo Base, Cliffside, Coronado Station, Santiago Base, Simushir, Site B, Site C, Site D, Site E
  • Colonial Settlements: Avalon, Rio Bravo

Flora and Fauna

Poseidon trilobites are specific (and endemic) to New Hawaii.

New Hawaii's shallow seas are famous for mangrove forests and kelp, which normally grows on temperate oceans; kelp-eating weedeaters are a familiar sight (and food) throughout the region.
