Efan Orm Radashe

A cipher. An enigma. The given name of this dark-haired and dark-eyed man is an alias, and very few know his true name. Still fewer know him by anything other than his professional moniker, 'Loki,' which has in recent years become a byword for data piracy. Loki can get into any system and it could be years before the intrusion was detected. He has never been caught, for as far as GEO and Incorporate law can tell, he doesn't exist.

Though he did, once. At one time, he was a Hanover computer systems technician, a rising star in the company. Evan Ormond, as he was called then, was the son of two Hanover citizen-employees, and had his already formidable intellect honed at the Haven Institute for Science and Technology. His parents were killed in a maglev bombing, and as compensation for his loss the company paid for the rest of Evan's education, with the effect that upon his graduation he landed a top-level programming job with Hanover.

The company, however, neglected to take two things into account: his limitless curiousity (and its commensurate disregard for rules and privacy) and his unparalleled computer skills. One day, poking around in files that he should not have had access to, he found several untagged payments from company executive Gabriel von Morde to the minor gang that had engineered the bombing which took his parents' lives. Shocked and enraged, Evan broke into the company records, erased all mention of his existence, and disappeared from Lebensraum forever. A few days later, all mention of Evan Ormond vanished from HIST's records, and the GEO's census data no longer contained any mention of him.

Changing his name to Efan Orm Radashe, he has been conducting a private war against Hanover ever since. To make ends meet, he freelances as a software consultant by his public name, and as a covert computer operative under his trade name. Though he will work for other Incorporate states, any attempt by Hanover to engage the services of the mysterious 'Loki' turns up blank. Radashe is very selective about the contracts he takes--he will only ever take jobs that harm the Incorporates.

He is engaged to Free Poseidon! spokeswoman Olivia Maxwell, although he is not a member of the organization (he does not agree with the goal of expelling the GEO from Poseidon, as he considers them to be necessary for the maintenance of law on the planet). He is also a good friend of HIST gene researcher Dr. Elwood von Mierhoff, and may have had something to do with the latter's sudden disappearance a few months ago.

Access Denied:
Part of Radashe's stance on the GEO is due to the fact that he is secretly a GEO operative. When he broke into the GEO administration building to access the secure server containing the census records, he was apprehended by the Haven magistrate. The magistrate offered him a deal: the GEO would let him disappear if he became a tool by which they could undermine the Incorporate presence on Poseidon. With no other viable options, Radashe became an agent, with the magistrate and Marshal Peter Church as his controllers. Consequently, so long as he never gets caught by the Incorporate law, he remains completely safe from prosecution--which works to his advantage as much as to the GEO's.
