Backbay Centre Cross

One of the "sub-parishes" of Backbay in Harmony is the Backbay Centre Cross, or the Centre Cross as it is usually named. On the map on Moderator's Guide (BPv2) p 128, locate the text Backbay in the lower left part, the hexagonesque building block south-east of the last Y of the text is Centre Cross.

Physical Layout

The Centre Cross is named after the four roads that form a cross in approximate middle of the block, where a large hole (130 times 70 m) has been built with a staircase down to the sea (the hole is called The dip).

The entire block is built on columns about three meters above sea level and it is possible to reach all of the block that is over water via boat. About 25 per cent is above the islet.

Law and Order

The 'order' is kept by seven NGC members that form the Bandulu Bredren, which consists of three female and four male, contrary to the name (bredren is slang for male member of the NGC, Frontier Justice (BPv2) p 19, the orignal gang where all male).

Molly, 23 years

The female leader of the gang, of African descent (Nigeria, pitch black). Hates the name but it is to known to be changed. Respects most members of the crew except for Desirée, who she considers to be a hang-around, but she is very useful and Molly would hate to loose her.

Perrin, 26 years

The second-in-command and thinks the name is just perfect, he usually opposes Molly's talk during late parties about a change of name. Has a girl-friend, Anna, that is not a NGC member but loves Perrin as much for his membership ('he is sooo coool!!!') in the movement as for any other reason. Perrin is slightly aware of this and confronts any male NRM member that approaches his girl. Perrin is of asian descent and Anna of European mixed with Chinese.

Desirée, 24 years

A former prostitue that has worked herself up, has had a brutal upbringing and been severely abused (mentally, physically and sexually) both during the upbringing and during her "professional career" and is therefor rather easy to control. Is repeatably ordered by Molly to go back to her old profession to extract information from targeted male and female individuals, something she is depressingly good at. (Depressingly because she won't be able to leave her old life behind, her skills are useful, and because it says so very much about human nature.)

Black Ecco, unknown age, bottlenose dolphin, male

John-the-baptizer, 31 years

A brutal and but pretty clever man of mixed descent who came to the planet as a Long-John prospector but gave up and ended up in Centre Cross and the Bredren. Got his name from a alleged story that he drowned a would-be-partner in a LJ-prosection operation.
