Abandonment

The Abandonment is the period of time between 2097, when resupply mission failed to reach Poseidon, and the arrival of the UNSS Adm. Robert Perry 70 years later. During this period the Athena Project colonists were completely isolated from Earth, undergping cultural evolution into what newcomers now identify as natives.

For a number of reasons many events of the Abandonment are poorly documented and can only be dated approximately.

	2104	Much of Harmony burns down in a fire.

	2118	Cousteau suffers orbital decay and falls into Poseidon's atmosphere.
094.33	7 August 2124	Mt. Odysseus erupts, destroying Atlantis in what becomes known as "the Calamity."
34	2125	Louis Nanpei makes landfall on Westcape.
37-39		Colonists from Haven arrive in Westcape, founding Perdition.
52	2146	Haven's last fusion reactor is destroyed in a helium flash, killing more than 150 and plunging the city into darkness.
	2155	The current location of Kansas is known to be established.
	2165	The arrival of UNSS Adm. Robert Perry in system is detected by at least forty native skywatchers.
163.69	15 August 2165	UNSS Adm. Robert Perry makes planetfall; the Abandonment officially ends with Recontact.
