Fast fungus

Fast fungus (Vindexa spp.) is composed of symbiotic interdependent bacteria and fungi. There are many varieties of fast fungus specific to certain kinds of enviromental conditions, and only the driest and most arid environments of Poseidon lack it entirely.
Fast fungus would be a footnote in Poseidon's ecology were it not for the fact that bioplastic, one of the most ubiquitous materials in use, is carbon-based and biodegradable. Natives use washes of diluted spurt poison to keep it at bay, while newcomers rely more extensively on anti-fungal and -bacterial additives to bioplastic, but combatting fast fungus is a time-consuming chore on the planet.
