Bright Savanna
Located in the grassy foothills of New Corazon’s western mountains, Bright Savanna (pop. 700+) is a colonial settlement founded by hybrids, and the only place on Poseidon where they form a majority.
Bright Savanna stretches almost 100 square kilometres of rolling terrain. Most of the area is devoted to agriculture and pastures, with an efficient irrigation system and 5m perimeter walls to keep out predators. Low, colorful bioplastic housing (especially prefabricated multi-family longhouses) and public buildings are centrally located and clustered together. Thanks to GEO grants and subsidised development loans, Bright Savanna is extremely well-funded (too well-funded, according to many other settlers) for its size, complete with automated farm machinery and its own fusion reactor.
Life in Bright Savanna is hard; the land isn't especially fertile, fresh water supplies are a perennial problem, and the hybrids have to constantly carry guns to protect themselves and their livestock. Bright Savanna's location lessens the threat of cyclonic storms, but seasonal wildfires and flash floods are also a problem. For its residents, though, freedom from pervasive anti-hybrid discrimination (and the oppressive humidity of the lowlands) is worth it.
